Name giving or naming ceremony

A naming ceremony is generally an informal occasion with family and friends to celebrate the birth and naming of your child. It has no legal status and may be designed as you want. 


General order of service

  • Introduction
  • Acknowledgement of grandparents, great grandparents, other special family or friends
  • A reading
  • Introduction of godparents/supporting mentors
  • The naming
  • A ritual (optional)
  • A reading
  • Presentation of the child and a printed record of the ceremony

Renewal of vows

This ceremony is for any couple to celebrate the years spent together and to renew promises for the future. It has no legal status. It may take place on a particular anniversary, and involve people who are special in your lives.

  • Vows
  • Exchange of rings (optional)
  • Another reading or a favourite song
  • Declaration
  • Signing of the documents
  • Presentation of the couple
